Hospital Bed

Problem– Our partners witnessed first-hand that when staff is not immediately available to assist patients, he or she may end up having to lie in his/her own urine and/or feces.  This also causes skin breakdown and bedsores, largely caused by prolonged exposure of the skin to moisture and waste.  Bedridden patients need a way to retain their independence and dignity when using the toilet. Solution– This bed will allow for a bed-ridden patient to complete the bowel and bladder elimination process without having to rely on staff of hospitals, nursing homes, or other facilities to assist with performing this task.  It also offers an alternative to using bottles and bedpans, and improves cleanliness and hygiene. Innovation– Our touchscreen interface provides totally control over patient positioning and bed management.  Adjustments can be made to control bidet water pressure and positioning for clean comfort.  Air drying mechanisms can be turned on or off as well.
